When The Lord wants you to find someone!!

A friend of ours in the Gold Coast asked us where we were headed, and we mentioned we didn’t really have a plan. Wherever The Lord leads.  She asked us to visit a friend of hers in a small town called Proston who was helping look after a lady there who had Melanoma.

We had been to a Christian Music festival last Sunday and Viv had met a couple who were also going to Proston the next weekend.  From virtually knowing nothing about Proston to knowing we were meant to go there it seemed like a confirmation that this place is important. Anyway, the couple told Viv who they were connecting with in Proston.

She mentioned a friend of hers was looking after a lady who had Melanoma and she would appreciate some prayer if we were headed past the Goomeri bakery (Famous for its food) to please get her something Gluten Free.  We were so disappointed when we pulled up and it is now closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

So, we pushed on and messaged our friend and received a cryptic answer. Well, when we got to Proston, we still had no idea where the Lady lived.  Messaged our friend again and still no answer. So, we started looking around the town.  We saw a church with some name and Phone numbers against people’s names. One of them was the lady that the Music Festival people had told us about they were in touch with.

It is only a small place with a few shops.  One of the shops I saw had an advertisement for a Fortune Teller.  $150 for 1.5 hours with a money-back guarantee.  I had to laugh.  Anyway, as we kept walking around looking in the shops a lady came up to Viv out of the Fortune Teller shop.  To me, she just looked nice a nice younger older lady probably in her 70s.  She asked if we knew the history of the town and wanted to give us a brochure.  Viv was a bit wary of her as she came out of the Fortune teller shop. She mentioned she had Googled the history of the town and was reluctant to take anything from her. Anyway, she asked what we were doing in town, and we told her the story about coming to pray for a lady in town. She said it’s not so and so and we said yes.  She then mentioned that so and so was looking after her and she would appreciate a visit from us. So, she gave us the address.  We went out there and she was appreciative of the prayer and company.

After lunch, the lady we had met in town came over, and another lady and her daughter who was probably in her late 40s or early 50s.  We all got chatting and then discovered that she had lived in Brisbane and her daughter had been in our daughter’s class at school.

The first lady pulled out a Mexican Train game and we all had a lot of fun for a few hours.  I won twice with Viv winning once and the lady with the child in our daughter’s year also winning.

I think the whole afternoon cheered everyone up.  So, one way or another The Lord had his plans accomplished.  We just need to see a Miracle for Joy.  The other people next week will also visit and pray for her.
